  We visited Cape Lookout for the first time. The boat ride from the visitor's center was quick and nice. We took the truck your of the island and the guide was very informative and friendly. This island has some of the best she'll hunting in the area but be prepared to stay for a couple of hours to collect them. The truck drips you off a mile or so from the good shells (which is why they haven't all been taken already) and you will have a decent hike ahead of you to get to them. Overall, the next time I visit this island I will definitely be prepared to picnic and stay a while.
